Looks like a lot of them spilled forward and under the rear wheels of that truck.

There must be a LOT more to this story than what is shown here.
Start with the basics: Who What Where When and How?
Either a complete clown show or those are just the empty shells with no HE inside. No way to know.
A couple of camo jackets and a civilian truck. Hmmm?

Agreed. The biggest trouble with the internet stuff is we have no context whatsoever. If the mine have no primer they are relatively safe. But if even one does, oh boy!

So easy to be armchair engineers and figure out what's going on. In our dreams!

    Happy I wasn't there.

The good thing is they aren't live and in the ground anymore.

No, they're being dumped off to be filled, fuzed and armed so they can be taken out and buried. How's that for pessimism?

Marv is probably closer to being right than any comment so far.
Even after thinking about my previous comment. Land mines are rarely defused the mere act of digging them up is dangerous. After they have been in the ground for any length of time dust or rain will cause the threads the detonator and fuse is in to rust or seize, also there is normally a spring inside that holds the trigger/ detonator pin away from the primer and fuse once the safety pin or device preventing accidental activation is removed it is difficult to reinsert because the compression spring has expanded. Forget about those war movies from Hollywierd when the plunger is pushed down, they go boom, the only way they don't is if the plunger has not been pushed all the way down to trip the spring-loaded trigger. There may or may not be a way to stop it from completing its one and only mission but That would largely depend on how the mine is made.
Never try to tell me it can't be done
