When you see how they get the grilles to line up by kicking them, I can't see how they could possibly be good.

They had a 2 stroke engine that smoked and was noisy. The car rattled, didn't ride smoothly and didn't go very fast. The body was made out of some sort of plastic made from fiber waste.

Also one of the all-time BEST cars. Since there were few other options unless you were a communist party member.

If I'm not mistaken, it only had 1 wheel drive, and I was told that if you wanted to buy one for your kid that you had to wait about 5 years and they only came in 3 colors.

I had a look at one, it looked like phenolic cloth laminate resin. Write up say that it was front wheel drive (both wheel). It was a pretty shoddy piece of work, like just about everything produced in the DDR. The only single wheel drive I can recall was an early Peugeot.

Plus the Fiber Body was not recyclable . And toxic to burn.
