    EBooks

Following the Enchanted Cottage project, I saved all of the articles written into a single file and it came to 140 pages worth (admittedly about 10 of those were code). And that did give me the idea of writing an ebook to sell either directly or via Kindle. It probably won't be on that topic as it needs too much reworking to get it into book format.

Has anyone done that kind of thing?

I have not, BUT - we've experimented with giving away ebooks as a freebie for newsletter subscribers, and it's worked out very well. Email subscription rates jump significantly when you give away a freebie, especially a valuable one.

If you want I can post the stats from Google Analytics on our ebook traffic so you can get an exact idea of how it has worked out for us.

I've probably got a few hundred on my personal website for people to download free. A lot of them are mechanical stuff. Most of them are only a page or just a few pages. I also had a firearm section but I had to take off the firearm books until the government figures out what they are going to do about that treaty stuff. I hated having to do that as they were some of the most popular ebooks on the site but I can't afford to go to jail over them either.
