    There must be some computerized air jets selectively hitting the cans. There isn't much difference in weight between the empty plastic bottle and the empty aluminum can, but the bottle doesn't budge one bit before it falls in the first bin.

    An eddy current separator uses a rotating magnetic field to induce currents in conductive non-ferrous metals, creating a repulsive force that pushes them out of a mixed material stream.
