    Iron ore perhaps. Those rocks contain sufficient iron to be magnetic. I have a spare key held under my 4WD with a magnetic & whenever I'm camping in an iron ore area the dust collects over the magnet inches deep. So much so it's a real nuisance.

    I can see an iron bar under the rock. I'm guessing there is a welder hooked up and they are just showing that there is electrical continuity through the high iron content in the rock.
