Wow!. My father once worked as a plasterer doing decorative architraves and panels etc built on lathes,(wooden framework not turning machines). I remember as a kid going to a theatre called The Civic which is in Queen Street in Auckland where he worked on some of the panels during its first restoration. I take note of plaster work because of that and from what I have seen it all seems to be panels or pieces made off position and assembled and blended in place.
The above looks like a lot of hard work.

As our heat indexes have been between 100 - 107 degrees F (38 - 41C) for the last few days, I appreciate someone that has to work near the ceiling with wet compounds causing even more humidity there! Hopefully this is in an air conditioned space, but it's still warmer at the ceiling.
