Hi Folks

I am new to this community and wanted to show the result of some of the work I did in my cellar workshop.
The body of my english wheel is made of 5mm sheet metal so it is quite a lightweight (abt. 150kg) compared to the dimensions.
Throat is 33" deep, total height is 66". The C-Shaped body is 150mm wide and up to 300mm deep. You can easily roll 2mm mild steel sheet metal in it without noticing any movement of the machine.
I am currently doing a 3D design of it by using FREECAD (it was made without any drawings). Once I am finished I could provide STEP-Files if anyone is interested.

I'd like to see it being used. Nice short video would do.

All one needs to do is get a cardboard box and marker and start a drawing, the fabrication is all elementary.
I have one question and that is the placement of the hand wheel as low as it is. Is it that way to be able to work with foot? I know english wheels require both hands to work the metal, I can only imagine.
Beautiful job and be proud and enjoy using it.

Sorry for the very, very late reply
Yes the "hand" wheel is intended to be foot operated. The thread pitch of the lifter's spindle is 2mm. This together with the approx. 175mm radius of the hand wheel gives you a very good feeling when adjusting the pressure between the flat wheel an the anvil.
