What doesn't show in this picture is that this needs to be done in a sealed room that's ~90+ degrees, 80%+ humidity that has bees battering themselves against all the windows and doors trying to get in to take back the honey you're stealing from them :P I worked for a USDA Bee research lab when I was in college, this was a more-or-less week (or two) annual task, because we had hundreds of hives in use for our various projects.

Hot sticky work, literally. We had a hot knife decapper, and an more industrial-grade extractor that took four (maybe six, it was a long time ago) frames at a time, and automatically rotated them to get all the honey out of both sides.

My reward for doing that for a week during harvest time in the summer in AZ (aside from my minimum-wage earnings) was a gallon jar of desert wildflower honey. I lost about 15 pounds in sweat alone, but it was a sweet sweet reward.

I like cooking with honey hardly ever eat it though not a taste that I ever acquired kind of like fresh fruit there are very few varieties I care for bananas seedless grapes maybe an apple once in a great while. Grapefruit for breakfast and that's about it Maybe a very large ripe plum or a pear everything else for me needs to be canned or put in a pie
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

A friend of mine is a beekeeper and provides raw, unprocessed honey for my son's mead. He strains (spins) it through sanitized panty hose to get the excess wax, wings and legs out... Don't want to see that floating in the bottom of your wine glass.

    First, take them off...

Then just wash them in an appropriate detergent, rinse with a standard restaurant sanitizer mix....

He has numerous sanitizers for jars and bottles etc. He's very food safety conscious, not sure the exact chemical he uses though, sorry.
