,I worked on a Zimmer machine it has a stainless steel rod inside the screen and a electric magnet under the belt.These are what we called lacquer screens they are made from nickel screen coated with lacquer the patern is cut in the lacquer with a lazer.or the old way with a negative and photo sensitive "Pin It")
I worked on a print machine for over 20 years.This is a Stork printer it has a squgee inside that presses the dyes out (called color in the print shop),I worked on a Zimmer machine it has a stainless steel rod inside the screen and a electric magnet under the belt.These are what we called lacquer screens they are made from nickel screen coated with lacquer the patern is cut in the lacquer with a lazer.or the old way with a negative and photo sensitive coating that hardens when exposed to light.A zimmer can print up to 18 colors at a time. The screens are .004 inches thick and very sharp when broken.
