Great you found this one - - but had they done a better job of gluing it - you might have missed it.
I think it might be dangerous for you if the crooks found you tampering with their equipment.
So..... the lesson is, always give the card reader a TUG before you use one?
While the video is informative and could be helpful, it appears to be staged. He did not just happen up on the scam reader. From his introduction he knew there was going to be a device on that one machine. He has "a friend" who reverse engineered a scam scanner. He also works for a cyber security firm. He knew the machine the women was using had no scanner. I do realize it could be a reinactment of a previous event. But if that is the case, he should have started out with that. "I want to show you the scammer scanner that I found while in Vienna". That would have made all the difference in the believability of the video.
Just my thoughts on the video. Some truth, mixed with lies, just to get hits. Exactly the way news media works in this era.
I disagree. If I went to use an ATM and suspected a skimmer was attached and so gave it a tug, I wouldn’t get my phone out and film it just in case.
If it turned out to be a device, sure, I’d then video it just like this guy has done.
Also, I believe his explanation of where he works was for the benefit of the lady, not us YouTubers.
We all have a right to opinions :D
