Nice idea, BUT, the pipe got broken off once. It is going to get broken off again. That repair will make the next repair more difficult. I think I would have made that "split adapter long enough to slide a lot further inside and NOT glue it into the wall. That way, next time it gets broken, slide out the old piece insert a new one.

If the inserted pipe is not glued in, there is a very good chance of leaking. Better to install some external protection against whatever caused it to break.

It appears to be a drain pipe. The only time it has water in it is when it rains and everything is wet anyway.

since this repair adds a small constriction in the pipe diameter (internal) - is that an issue? if it was sewage pipe, the internal piece would need chamfering to be less of a hangup point?

There is also the possibility the pipe is a vent pipe
