I have little fixture plate at work that isn't as nice as this one! If you have to work on small things they are immensely handy, so I can recommend for any home shop. The one at work was literally a piece of scrap pulled from the recycle bin.
One day I will do one out of quality steel. Aluminum is nice for being expendable as sometimes it makes sense to drill of mill into the plate.
