This reminds me too much of the douchebags in high school. They had Honda Civics and VWs and would just do the most insanely dumb things to them. The whole "stance" thing where they'd put the wheels on at 45 degrees so they'd drive on the sidewalls. Sanding the hood down to bare metal, then attacking it with a mild acid so it goes completely to rust. The rusty hood thing was really popular for a while. One kid with a Ford put V-Tec stickers all over his car and would tell everyone that he installed a V-Tec on his Ford engine. This is triggering for me. It's really just an extension of my hatred of stupid.

I fully agree. In the end, it is all enjoyment of cars....whatever style you are in to. There are vehicles out there that I think are hideous or what has been done to them is stupid, but who am I to say that their personal love of their vehicle is any different than the stupid things that I have done to many of my vehicles in the past that I though was cool. Nowadays, as I see it, do whatever...just as long as it is safe and does not present a hazard to others.
