I am so curious how that works. Is it air or some kind of liquid. Fascinating. There is a video (can't find it right now) of Carroll Shelby using masking tape, string and binoculars when trying to get the Ford GT-40 to handle properly at high speeds.

If you go to right around the 1:45 - 1:50 mark you can see all kind of artifacts just behind the piece of material being simulated. Also you can see each "stream" break up into particles as the flow progresses, which is the opposite of what would happen in real life. I would lean strongly toward this being a computer simulation. A big part of my girlfriend's masters degree was CFD (computational fluid dynamics). It's pretty neat stuff.

This isn't the actual Carol Shelby, but it's a scene for Ford vs Ferrari. It was a good movie.

Edit: There's some sort of Youtube witchcraft happening. I dunno. You can click on the link to open it in another window.
