    Be interesting to see an impact energy delivery test. Those oil filled tubes looked very much like the re-coil dampers in the stock of my .308. Very effective they are too.

    Well... She took that all the way from proof of concept to artisan execution. I'm a bit surprised that the wooden head would hold up to the stresses put on it, after having so much stock removed, internally, to accommodate the brass hydraulic inserts. My hat's off to the workmanship — having crafted all parts on what appears to be a modified wooden lathe. (Or is that a modified machinists lathe?) In any event, it could win the Blue Ribbon at the County fair, but I don't think it would last very long as a go-to deadblow hammer. Belongs in a glass case.
