Here we see them taking full advantage to having the metal white hot. the lump is pressed into shape at the same time compacting the molecules. tightly together forcing the molecules to fill any voids or trapped cavities. next step threading once cooled.

My guess is that the guy running the camera is supposed to be changing the cart of finished forgings.
