I am thankful they are back racing but it was sure was boring.
The only action was the last two laps when both Mercs lost the LF tires.

Whether or not he knew that it was a tire failure and out of his control, his first words were of disappointing the team. That is unusual in racing, and says something about him as a person. I've never heard of him. Maybe this is normal for him.

So it was the tyres - it looked for a moment like he got suckered by the chevrons
No tyre wall on the outside of a bend ? a bit negligent.

I thought it was the Chevrons. I keep watching it and I see that as soon as he touches the chevons, he's off.

Here's a rear view. Someone said the hub exploded and took the tire with it.

    defo a tyre blow out

Jim you must have binged on the after race analysis

Daniil is such a gent. fancy putting your hands up to a fail before anyone knows who did what.
very brave, when i take the blame for things that are not my fault i end up getting the world dropped on my shoulders. Chivalry isn’t dead only peoples attitude towards chivalrous and humble people.

When did society turn into such a bunch of a-holes
im rooting for this guy now i like his style

someone on facebook said earlier Hamilton is a genius on the track its a shame he is a dick off it.
i replied you cant say that its racist - just because he has a big black cock. that’s stereo typing.

Mechanical failure caused the tire assembly to toe out thus causing the scrubbing tire to fail.

Left line shows toe out due to mechanical failure. Right line should be normal alignment.

Right rear wheel would become sluggish, car was steering a right hand bend. both should have caused the car to twitch to the right in my Pre school train of thought.
I cant say i have much experience in these matters but actually i may have on account of i have crashed a few cars of my own in the past. Which begs the question why did it spin left when the blowout was on the right. There is so much i don’t understand about aerodynamics and G forces - it just rocketed into the wall really didn’t it.
I suppose driving the car i would steer off the track if i got a blowout rather than cause total carnage on the track. at 200+ mph the wall would precede the thought process of hitting the yankers.

The wheel alignment looks plausible if you follow your eye down the body of the car the wheel looks out of alignment, i cant imagine there would be any azimuth adjustment of a fixed axel but knowing the tech in these cars wouldn’t surprise me. Certainly height, vertical alignment and suspension would be altered by telemetry during a race. Gimbaling the wheel so that toeing the wheel angle in/out a few degrees? There be dragons.
