I have to ask why bother? the guy clearly is fully capable of walking the few feet to the steps and deliver it himself. Sure, the robot can roll up and deliver a package, but the guy still has to load the package into the robot. The whole thing just seems a silly way to waste time to me.
If the driver has mobility issues that would be a different story,
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products
During the trials and testing period, yes, this seems silly and a waste of effort. But if you envision much farther forward in time and progress, then it makes more sense. Driverless delivery van, robot/automation inside the van loads the delivery robot, and then the robot delivers it up to the front porch.
It starts to make sense when delivering in a suburban neighborhood where it's rows and rows of houses and deliveries.
