    A frame saw

    Hi,
This is a frame saw I made recently.
I've been wanting to make one for a long time. It's amazing how versatile they are : you can cut to length but also slit or resaw and they are quite fast !
The fact they have their blade tentioned allows for a thinner blade and a really narrow saw kerf.

I made mine using a "universal" Japanese blade, that is a blade intended to work both along the grain and across the grain and as well pulling and pushing.

The blade can pivot which is very interesting for instance when re-sawing to avoid any interference with the frame.

    Here are the pictures :

Nicely done, exquisite detailing as usual, Christophe! I have seen people doing some amazing resawing with ones like this.

I've long been a fan of Yoav Lieberman's work at "Popular Woodworking", and he has a five-part build sequence for one, oriented towards younger woodworkers. (it uses a hacksaw blade). His design esthetic is very much like yours, I think.

Edit: Ugh Their website doesn't properly link all five parts:

    Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3 , Part 4 , Part 5
