Parts with no through hole can be a problem to clamp in the bore without having to remove the fixture from the chuck or vice. This system allows clamping of the part if there is no access to the rear of the fixture. There are 2 links to more information in the description below the video.

Okay I had to watch this a few times, so correct me if I'm wrong. The o-rings are allowed to relax, and you slide the part over them making a reasonably tight fit. Then when you tighten the nut it compresses the o-rings expanding them into the ID of the part. That's smart.
It is an expanding mandrel much like you would find to expand an exhaust pipe. if you stop the video at the 1,03 you can just see the lines showing the segments. the o rings would be used to draw the segments together when released by the spanner.Quote:

So, he is just squeezing the o rings then. Much simpler than an expanding mandrel. In the video the way the light shown on it, it appeared to have reliefs cut into the mandral ThanksQuote:
