fuel filter, distributer, adapter

This is a combined, fuel distributor/filter/adapter I made for my 74 TX650.

Body material is 6061, filter material is stainless.

Inlet barbs are 6.12mm brass, outlet barbs are 8.12mm steel.

Bottom piece is for inlet. Holes were drilled 5.5 then 6mm to give a finished size of 5.98mm. A barb was turned to 6.12mm and then pressed into place.

Top piece is for outlet. Holes were drilled 7.5mm then 8mm to give a finished size of 7.98mm. Barb was turned to 8.12mm and pressed into place.

The bike has two taps and two carbs. As well as filtering the fuel, the unit also serves as an adapter for joining 6mm and 8mm fuel hose and also serves to level the fuel on both sides of the fuel tank, so both carbs get fuel right down to an empty tank.

The 12x1.25 threaded spigot at the bottom serves as a mount, which mounts through a rubber grommet and below that is an 8mm barb for purging. It leads to a purging valve underneath the bike.

Due to the purging valve, the filter should never need changing or cleaning.
