The huge garage, built by jsherid1 on GarageJournal.com, was built with six bays, in two 3-bay units, as part of a 5-bedroom custom house build outside of Dallas, Texas.

The garage space includes a shop area, a large storage room, and a 500 square foot loft with bathroom above the garage.

What's notable here is that although jsherid1 didn't build the garage himself, he probably could have, and he ended up acting as a thorough consultant and inspector, double-checking and highlighting miscellaneous contractor mishaps, while other builders chimed in with tips on how to monitor the build process. jsherid1 dismisses this as "OCD", but it's a good example of how to get a job done correctly when you're not the one swinging the hammer.
