Question!
would be better if it were secured to grinder, I say this because separated different vibrations.
Great looking rest. I know there is one like this on the site, but it is made from aluminum. I like the idea of steel instead of aluminum. I know the pics you posted are great, and I was wondering if you are going to post up any measurements for those of us who don't have a calibrated eyeball.

Very nice, captain! That's a pretty solid rest.
I've made a few tool rests for grinders. One is kind of like this. Except I made that table out of Micarta. Then when I made a metal sliding table rest. Instead of a dado groove I used a guide strip type of arraignment on that one. That ended up working OK. I call that the Veritas style. I have also cloned the Tormek rest on another grinder.
Well Thanks guys for the kudos just something I thru together one day.
Hello Captain,
Nice job and nice design to have it out of the way when folded down.
As both; grinder and steady rest are on the same board, there should not
be any vibrations. Your design will help me in my grinder rest project.
I was also planning to make one, also connected to the wooden base,
but removable. I am just about to start with drawing, based on your project.
Many thanks for sharing / Best regards
