I have been so fascinated by the tools that make things since the git-go. Out of the Air Force, I started carrying my growing shop (Ha Ha) in my chevy sedan delivery. Lived in one room rentals and rented a garage to work in. Mostly electronic stuff which invariably included some metal work. Years went by.

When 30 I married a girl I had grown up with, We came to California, bought a house, and started having kids. The 2 car garage became a machine shop and began to support a little business. 12 years went by and we were bursting out of the 3bed 2bath. Looked for a place in the mountains, found a lot (cheap) got money (?) and built a 3 story LOG house. While looking for something to buy I discovered that a LOG house was the only choice. I found several properties I liked, but something was always wrong. (I wanted something that would allow a bigger shop.) Oh well, 18 months later working an ON CALL maintenance job by day and putting up one log after another by night, we had a mostly done LOG house with 2 shops, one for my Sweetheart and one for me (full basement).

I think all the time as you all do. Ideas come, need worked out, prototyped,debugged, and added to the shop or sold. Some customers wanted the end result. Several bigger better machines (some bought and rebuilt) (cheap) went their way and now I'm 80.

I have built many things but never that steam engine I often dreamed of. Oh well, I'm having a good time and don't sweat the small stuff.
