I visited my Great, Great grandma when I was 4 years old. Up in North Western Manitoba. The Swan River Valley. They didn't have running water. They had this same idea right near the kitchen sink. A hand operated pump that I loved to work for whoever wanted water. Oh and chamber pots. Great idea for a little 4 year old. (Who didn't have to empty them of course) Slide it out, do your business, slide it back Whoohoooo!
