A much easier way to pull the ice blocks out after the first one, would be to put something in holes on the ends of the forks like a 4 to 6" long 3/4 bolt sticking up. then lower the forks until the bolts were under the edge of the ice tilt back slightly allowing the ice to roll onto the forks, and raise it out of the water

I remember us buying ice in blocks to go picnicing when I was a kid. We'd chop it up with an ice pick. Times have changed in so many ways.
