I follow this person on TikTok. The urchins are denuding kelp forests on the US Pacific coast. They strip it all the way down to bare rock in a way that makes clearcut logging took positively friendly by comparison.

This person works at a company that makes kelp chips and part of their proceeds go into de-urchin-ing areas so the kelp can recover.

Makes you wonder how on earth this poor little planet ever survived a billion or more years before humans came along. Then through their ever increasing numbers began re terraforming it to suit their needs
