Heat Treating 1080/1084
So I made this video targeting knife makers, however, I got to thinking that having the ability to heat treat in your shop can be applicable to many different tools (hammers, draw knives, axes, chisels, punches, drifts, etc).
Anyways... with that in mind I'm posting it here; hoping that it finds someone looking to do some @ home heat treating without a high end oven or kiln.

That's a lot of good information, thanks for the video! I've made several blades out of 1084 and it's fantastic to work with.
Only thing I'd add is that perceived color when the blade is heated changes a lot in different lighting conditions, so you can't trust your eye in someone else's shop with different lights or at different times of day if outside.
