Hello!
Hi,
I live in the Seattle area and stumbled across this site sort of by accident. Now I'm having a hard time leaving....
I guess I could start by showing you a "tool" I made recently - More of a "tool holder" I suppose. It stared when I inherited my grandfather's old Hay Budden anvil and needed somewhere to put it.
It was sort of dirty:

Tied the legs together and added leveling jacks to cope with my bad floor:

Scabbed a hold-down method:

Painted her up and let her collect dust:

Hope to see more of you guys!

Hi Wmrra13,
Welcome - glad to have you here! :welcome:
Nice anvil stand; we'll get that added to the site directly. What else are you working on currently?
When you're ready to share some more of your own homemade tools, we'd love to see them. Please post them directly in the Homemade Tools subforum. We'll add each one to the database, as well as to your builder page on the site.
Non-tool items should be shared in the Not a Tool, but Homemade subforum.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the kind words!
I did make another post for a somewhat similar project in the "Homemade Tools subforum".

Hi Wmrra13, welcome to the forums! Sturdy-looking stand you got there.

Hello Wmrra13. Welcome to the HT forums. Nicely restored anvil. How did you clean off the rust? Electrolysis?

Al,
Thanks for the kind words.
I used a wire wheel (actually more of a wire cup) on a 4 1/2" angle grinder.
This reminds me, I need to put a coat of wax on it...
Cheers,
Tyler
