Hello
Just ran across this site while I was looking for toe jack plans.
I'm a manufacturing engineer who started out as a Machinery Repairman (machinist) in the US Navy and now have 40 years of industry & academic experience. I have a 24X48 shop with a 14X30 Logan lathe, a Fray vertical mill, a 14" Delta wood/metal vertical saw, a shop built horizontal band saw, a 100 year old power hacksaw, 10" table saw, 8 1/2" compound miter saw, a 12 speed 14" floor mount drill press, a big old honking mechanical press of at least 20+ tons, a Miller 180 MIG, a stick welder, oxy/acetylene rig, engine hoist, a 100 year old Cincinnati 9' planer that needs some TLC, along with misc grinders, sanders, drills, tooling, measuring instruments and the like.
My latest acquisition is a Champion 120 gallon 10HP 4 cylinder 2 stage air compressor. :)
As with most "doers" I have way more projects than I have time.
So hi to everyone.

Hi Stan,
Welcome!
Sounds as though you've got a great workshop and significant experience putting it to use. We're looking forward to seeing your work.
When you're ready to share some of your own homemade tools, we'd love to see them. Please post them directly in the Homemade Tools, subforum. We'll add each one to the database, as well as to your builder page on the site.
Non-tool items should be shared in the Not a Tool, but Homemade subforum.

Wow, Dr Stan, that's some shop. I'd be ecstatic to have even half of the gear you have. Should make for some interesting projects!
