Just joined this community as I'm becoming a novice on woodworking, close to retirement and decided to take on a new hobby. Have been a graphic designer for 30 years and collecting a few woodworking tools for the past 2 years. Built a shed in my backyard, 18' x 20', not too big. Was looking for a home made drum sander ideas and found this site, a new 16" Jet sander is $1,250, too much for the use I'm planing, mainly to sand cutting boards and butchers block.
I have a lot to learn, so I might ask for help here and there, just be a little patient if my questions are dumb.
List of what have so far:
24" x 36" CNC router machine
14" Band saw
Ridgid Table saw
13" Planer
Ridgid belt and spindle sander combo (I think that's what is called)
Jet Dust collector
Ridgid miter saw
Triton 3.25 HP router mounted on my workbench with a woodpecker router plate, height adjustable.
Couple of drills and hand tools and a radio of course.
Started buying some hard woods for projects and now my wife is asking when I'm starting to make some money with those expensive tools (in her eyes).
Will post pics of my little shop when I finish cleaning it, which by the way, the inside, benches, sink stand with drawers on the side was built by me, first project ever completed.
Thank in advance,
Marcos
