Welcome Boyntonstu. Liked your elevator. Do the wheels mark up the walls? Have been thinking on building one for a while but thought about using a pulley and counter weight system that could either be done by hand or with a small dc motor. The winch seems like a cheap and cheerful way to do it too.
However I got a bigger giggle out of the shot gun...too much fun but not enough physics. :lol: Thanks for Sharing! ~PJ :hattip:
I attached a pair of 3 x 1/8 tacks painted black.

No reflection on your background and did check out your YT channel...fun inventive stuff! Newton's second law came to mind with how tight the vice was for somewhere between 8-11kpsi for a 12ga. shotgun shell depending on how much and what type of shot, powder charge, etc. to the mass of your gun as to what reaction force might be...so the vice/clamp could hold it. ~¿@ The other part was the firing pin didn't seem to be secured so I assumed it shot back into the PVC stock, unless there was some kind of stop in it. Just a giggle and glad no one was hurt.

There is a steel cap on the 101/4 nipple. The firing pin cannot penetrate the cap.
When you mentioned physics, my first thought was about barrel burst.
AAMOF This shotgun is far superior to store bought guns in burst safety.
