Hello from KC
Hi All-
I am in the Kansas City area. I have been a tool & die maker by trade since 1975. I have a shop at home where I do a business of making prototypes of new inventions and repairs and tooling for other companies. My partner, the Shop Wench has a Master's degree in mechanical engineering and does my cad drawings and helps in the shop on occasion. I know a lot of "tricks of the trade", but only a small fraction of what there is to know, so am always on the lookout for new (to me) knowledge. One lifetime is not nearly enough to learn everything alone, so I like to see what everyone else is up to.
All the Best-

Hi Toolguy - welcome to HomemadeTools.net :welcome:
Interesting profession! If there are any new inventions you're allowed to post photographs of, feel free to post away.
What's next up on your projects list?

Hi Jon-
Thanks for the welcome!
I can't show any of the invention stuff because of Non Disclosure Agreements and the information can't be made public while people are trying to get Patents on their ideas. There are some things that are patented that I don't show on the forums because the forums don't have a "for sale" area and showing them would violate the no sales policy. There are shop made tools and other items that can be shown on occasion. I don't have any projects in the near future that can be made public at this time. I try to help others with their machining questions as time allows.
Best Regards-

Hi Toolguy,
Welcome! :welcome:
Sounds fascinating. I think we can all understand the NDA situation. Perhaps you could share some of your machining techniques without relating them directly to a client's intellectual property?
Now we're all curious…!
