Hello from the Marshall Islands!

Hi Forum Members, My name is Dan. I found this forum by chance, but it's right up my alley. I live in the Marshall Islands and work in the airline industry as a maintenance QC inspector. I tinker at home in my spare time on the house, motorcycles, boats, cars and trucks and lots of other odd stuff. Because of the remoteness of my location, fabricating tools is sometimes a necessity because you just can't find what you want or need to do a particular job or it's just too expensive to purchase items from overseas and have them shipped here. I am presently building a 16" wooden band saw from plans available from woodgears.ca and having fun. Cheers!

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the Welcome. I have nearly 300 photos of the project build so far. Perhaps I will start a thread on the build.

I am stuck at the moment waiting for some pieces of red oak that are rather green to acclimate to their new home in the tropics before I start cutting them for the lower wheel and table trunnion mounts.
