I am a retired guy, a child of depression parents. I was always taught "Don't waste, use it up!" so I have been making tools a long time. I guess it's time to move it up a notch. Looking fwd. to seeing new things and ideas.Tugdoc

Hi tugdoc,
Welcome! :welcome:
What sort of homemade tools have you made?
Ken
As my screen name reflects I am a retired tugboat mechanic. Most jobs required some sort of specialized tooling mostly lifting devices.
Hey tugdoc, I'd be interested in see those lifting devices you mentioned.
DYIer I made them on co. time so they stayed with co. One head lifter comes to mind, we had several caterpillar 6 1/4 bore engines one head covered two cylinders after removing the rocker arms one would bolt my lifter to the rocker stands and as one tightened the bolts the lifter bracket would come against the head studs forcing the heat away from the block. I t saved lots of prying, grunting,@*$)@. I never thought to take a pic.
