Hey from Hoss

Hey folks,
My nickname is Hoss, I've been building my own stuff since I was a kid. I was a machinist by trade but taught myself all about the world of CNC the past several years by building a few machines for myself. I have a website for my first about my X2 minimill cnc build here. Hossmachine Homepage. I moved up to the now popular G0704 the minute it came out at Grizzly in 2010. g0704.com. I have several other machines, a highly modified 7x10 lathe, a grizzly G0602 10x22 lathe, an RF45 clone mill and built a couple of 3D printers as well. Nice site and some great tools you've got there! What are your thoughts on the current state of 3D printing technology? On the home shop level, is it useful for anything beyond unstressed prototyping? Fascinating stuff…

I've made lots of brackets and mounts that are still in use 3 years later. If you use a heavy fill pattern (75% for me) they can be quite solid and durable. Of course as a prototyper it has been very valuable too, I use a light fill, 25% just to test fit a project.
