HF Bandsaw fix so it can actually take 6" wide material

The time: round a decade ago.
    The place: California.
The mission: Build custom lighting controls for a famous traveling circus from Canada.

The panic: The 3" x 6" aluminum tube I need to cut a bunch of pieces of won't fit in my ^%$%#! 4x6 bandsaw!

The solution: Replace one jaw of the saw to allow larger items in. Pictures follow.

I made it closer to the blade while I was at it so now I can cut short pieces. The jaw is just angle from my scrap bin.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind, "just in case".
PS, I'm glad you posted a few pics rather than a video, much quicker to walk through rather than sitting through a 5 or 10 minute video.

Two in one here. Yes, the bandsaw tip is great.

But so is the no video tip. Bravo! And Bravo 2!

I hope to do some videos but I firmly intend to keep them as short as possible and totally to the point.

Jerry, I posted a link to this thread on the 4x6 Bandsaw groups.io group, formerly the Yahoo group. Looks tailor-made for a lot of folks there, too!

    Again, thanks!

Since a lot of people seem to be reading this lately, here's that same band saw moved 11 time zones to the East with a new stand under it.

I had to swap out the motor since we're in 220V, 50Hz land now. I was given an OLD 3 phase motor so it's currently "Jerry Rigged" on but I'll be making a proper motor mount for it and also installing a 3 phase automatic shutoff at end of cut. All parts are here, just need time to install them.

I did have to bore out the motor pulley to fit this new motor. Luckily I have a lathe.

    Download plans for bandsaws.
