I actually found this site when looking at plans for belt grinders, That is going to be my next project.
I am still trying to figure out how to go about it though. I want to build one for Knife making using the motor and switch from a weedeater because of the variable speed control

If you post a note with a few specific questions about your intended belt sander configuration in our Help Me Build subforum, I'm sure you'll get some useful input.
