    Elements?

    Elements?

I see you cutting up a grinding wheel.

However, there are many compositions of grinding wheels.

Would you have any reference as to which composition of grinding wheel your 'element' refers to? Or what information made you use parts of a grinding wheel for this?

Hi volodar. The composition of the grinding wheels I use to make the heating elements is silicone carbide, a common material used. I tried graphite sticks but they did not work nearly as well. I discovered the solution in silicone carbide after researching different microwave susceptor materials. Thanks for watching volodar!

Hi Bony. I have been wanting to try different materials and metals but I don't think the magnetron will be very happy with that. I'm weary to use my nice new microwave for the test though! Perhaps someone with an old machine can give it a bash and let us know? But stand back
