I am a retired mechanical design engineer and a keen hobbyist.
Recently I have been making IC and Stirling engines which has required me to make a number of home made tools and fixtures etc.
With my background I have always been fascinated by old and new technologies to produce 'things' and achieve great satisfaction by solving a problem with what I have around.
I hope to pick up a few pointers from this site.

When I get time from all the DIY jobs I still have a home made spotwelder to complete, oh and a pulse jet I never finished :-)
