Historical map of tornadoes in the U.S. - photo

Certainly dispels the myth that all tornados travel from south west to northeast My grandmother always said if we see a twister from the back door of the house to head for the root cellar if we could see it from the front door just sit on the Poarch and watch it go by that was all well and good until one day there was one passing by to the north that sent a fence post into the big oak tree in our front yard. She got up and went to the root cellar. Called it a sister twister and those darn Nuns were as heathen as their religion.
