Plumbers tape doesn't work with BSP fittings, it's ONLY for American tapered fittings. The same goes for thread goo, it's only intended for tapered thread.
I understand that people outside the USA think the idea of tapered thread to be crazy talk. But hey, we're Americans so crazy fits right in.
Here's an example of an ACTUAL "multi-length" pipe fitting used in the USA.

Yes, great video, just wondering about that filter. What did you use for the filter medium and how about the top of filter? I like the idea of using the door knob. I am also a tinkerer and have to look at everything twice before letting it get to the treasure pile out back.
Would love to have heard it run... it has to make some noise.
