What is the reason for the plastic wrap? Won't the tool overheat because the front air holes have been covered?

Agree, one of the first warnings (among many ) is to never use wire! A piece of wire coming off of something spinning at 10,000 rpm + will bury into that bare leg real quick. I was using a knot wheel on an angle grinder and had on heavy denim jeans and a piece came off and hit me in the family jewel area

This is as useless as the teats on a Bull. Anyone who sees this and tries it should immediately be institutionalized.

I've said this before just because something can be made out of a 4 1/2" angle grinder doesn't mean it should be.
While I can see times when something like this might be handy but not without a string guard, maybe adapt a disk guard off of a 9" grinder and use trimmer line instead of the wire rope
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

Years ago I was wire brushing off the last of some sealer and paint in a car body prior to washing down so I could weld the base plates in for a roll-cage wearing a leather apron too but a tiny bit of wire went through my overalls and jeans and into my leg just below my knee. Never felt a thing.
Next day about lunch time my leg started feeling stiff and sore. About 20:00 hrs that night I was in hospital. My leg just blew up. I had a bad case of sepsis and was flat out in a bed for three weeks. Major pus eruption when I finally got the useless doctors to lance the big boil that formed.
I suit up big time whenever I'm using an angle grinder. Seen and had the odd disk fracture as well. No joke.

I knew a guy who put a circular saw blade on a 9" grinder and removed the guard so it would fit. He then climbed onto an ICB cubie and got lifted in the air with a forklift to prune a tree. The result was quick and predictable, he never regained the use of his arm.
