    Home made Rock tumbler

Hi .. I'm new to tool making. This came about accidentally, I found the cost of Lapidary equipment too much.
Looking on Youtube for alternatives I decided I would have a go.
So I made my own tumbler for rocks. A bit Heath Robinson but works. It's an ongoing project.
The vid I made is on youtube and I will put it on later when I have time.

Thanks for allowing me to join the group. Looking forward to making other things inspired by this group.

    Regards Graham

Got round to finding the vid .... hopefully this link will work :-)

Hi Graham - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

That's true, lapidary equipment is stunningly pricey.

You can post your YouTube vids here just by copy-pasting in the url; that should make a player embed automatically.

I "roll my own" ammo and made a similar tumbler for polishing brass. I used a chevy fan and water pump flange on the jackshaft. used a metal paint can with the self sealing lid. I tell people it's my PC wind powered 2nd amendment machine.
