Very pretty. Shows how a small grinder can so serious work.
Here is my copy from about 20 or so years back plus a big daddy. Oil bottle for size perspective

I put a bit too much pressure so have bent it a bit (like some commercial ones I have) but it still works fine.
You can never have enough clamps/cramps.
Cheers

Thanks ranald.
It was first time I tried to cut solid steel bar with this stand and thin disc. I have to say its dangerous. I dont know if I use it again for solid thick steel but if I try it I use a thick disck.
Nice pic. Its realy good feeling to have your homemade tools for 20 year and still working.

Yeah, those thin discs can splinter everywhere cuttin through clothes etc. A friend copped some in the face (& hospital) because he would close his eyes rather than waste time & fit safety glasses. Of course in a stand the machine doesn't wander a couple of degrees which usually causes the disintegration (or a previously wet disc). the other of course is pushing/forcing the tool beyond its design. seen plenty of guys wrecking even drills by pushing too hard.
Quality discs cost more & seem to be more forgiving so worth it.
Cheers
