    homemade lathe.

I always wanted to make a lathe. Three months ago without any design and a thick old wood and a metal (H) started. Many mechanisms and a lot of work almost every day. The first tests are satisfactory.

    Nice work there Rep
Are you mainly going to do wood work and a little metal? what moves the carriage? I see you have a handle on the saddle, is there a rack an pinion gear on the bottom of the feed rod?

    Nice work

just a minor suggestion: Relocate the rack (with teeth facing down) above the pinion so that the gear teeth aren't such a natural repository for debris.
