your lathe is Jane approved LOL. My wife said it is something different and it ain't going to vibrate either her exact words.
A vast quantity of ferroconcrete lathes were made during WW1 due to the low cost of manufacture and the fact that they could be produced anywhere with a minimal amount of parts that needed shipping to sites. As units advanced (or retreated) it was easy to demolish them and just build a new one. Various parts of Africa were littered with them. Also the munitions factories in England and Scotland used a lot.
Well done ramswarnak. Just one point, it might be an optical illusion because of the camera angle but I thought that your cutting tool was a little off centre line to the part being turned.
