What's the deal with the weird hammers?

I'm dumbfounded by the goofy hammers too, offset handle makes sense, but 3-ringed version? IDK, circus hammer?
Anyway, that craftsperson wins tool-of-the-week in homemade vise category...

They are FORD hammers. Found on rubbish dump.
