I don't' know if they are giant Japanese or not but those huge green striped buggers I've seen here in Texas are not something you want to sting you. largest one I've seen was large enough to shoot at with a .22 but a shot gun with snake shot betters your odds. they get about 2 inches long and have stingers that I bet can penetrate 3/8" plywood. we have cow ants around here most are small just an inch long or less but they are known as a mad wasp with no wings
Never try to tell me it can't be done

He's destroying the nest, but the hornets will just build another. A better use of the suit may be to bring boiling water to the nest at night and not only get rid of the nest but the hornets as well. Pouring molten aluminum in for a piece of art work is an option, but they're not as pretty as an ant nest.

This must be from one of those "FREE CAR! - you haul it away" ads on Craigslist. "Minor upholstery damage; comes with free air freshener."

Yeah apparently Alabama has lots of these mega-sized yellowjacket nests; apparently the mild winters are allowed a lot more of them to survive than usual https://www.atlasobscura.com/article...w-jacket-nests

Yeah those are Pain Level 3 on the Schmidt Pain Index. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schmidt_sting_pain_index along with desert harvester ants, which are nasty buggers. And they are wingless wasps, not ants. Back when I was in college I worked for Justin for a few years. Very interesting guy. We tried digging up a bumblebee colony one time so we could house it and study; I'll attest that bumblebees are a lot harder to get mad enough to sting you, but they hurt; and unlike honeybees, they can sting you more than once. They'll also go right through an ordinary bee suit. We do have tarantula hawks around here (up there with Bullet ants on the scale) but you have to work at it to get them to sting you...
