Great idea. I have always kept a glue gun around because they are handy in so many ways. I have even used them as an excellent jig of sorts for holding things in place for welding.

I have done this for years. If I want my connection to be more like a plug I use epoxy. Make a mold with tape (I normally use scotch tape) and pour in the epoxy. I have also used RTV this way, but you have to be careful to use the electrical version without the acetic acid in it.
If I were a wordsmith like you I would write up some PDF files on stuff n things I have come up with over the years. PEX and PVC make good cases for filling with epoxy or hot glue. Need a remote switch (like for bumping a car starter around) just put the switch in the end of the pipe and fill er up. Makes a good winch switch too when you loose one.
Would it be okay to gather some info and email it to you?
